[edit] Background Information

The Primera División Argentina or Argentine Premier Division is the top division of Argentine football. Founded in 1893 and featuring 20 clubs, the Primera doesn't feature a traditional league/cup format. Instead the 20 clubs compete in 2 separate tournaments, the Clausura which runs from February to June and the Apertura which runs from August to December.
