Club Information

Porto was founded in 1893 and are the current champions of Liga Sagres. Porto have won the league 23 times, they hold the record for most consecutive league titles with 5. Porto have won the Champions League twice most recently in 2004 under manager Jose Mourinho. They play at the Estadio do Dragao.

Squad

Goalkeepers

Helton - Good allround goalkeeper, will keep Nuno out of the team easily.

Nuno - At 33 he wont have much left in him. You will need to find a young goalkeeper to be backup to Helton.

Defenders

Jorge Fucile - Decent fullback probably better at defending than attacking.

Fatih Sonkaya - Not a good fullback at all and should be sold soon.

Lino - Not the best at defending but is a decent player going forward.

Bruno Alves - Can rotate at the centre of defense with Emanuel and Stepanov easily, can head well and has good strength.

Pedro Emanuel - Captian of the club but at the age of 33 he wont be at the club for much longer so you need to find a younger replacement.

Milan Stepanov - Possibly the best defender at the club, i would say heading is easily his best attribute.

Nelson Benitez - Best leftback in the squad, good at defending but his lack of pace could potentially be a huge problem.

Cristian Sapunaru - He can play rightback aswell as his favoured posistion of centreback but he isnt as good as Stepanov, Alves and Emanuel.

Rolando - Not great to be honest but at the age of 21 he still has time to improve.

Midfielders

Joao Paulo - A defensive midfielder with decent ability but there are better players in the squad, should be used as backup.

Mario Bolatti - Good teamwork, strength and work rate make him a good choice for the battling player in midfield.

Castro - Doesn't look that great but he is 19 and can only improve, you can loan him out for some first team football but i would sell him.

Freddy Guarin - Decent looking midfielder that can fire shots in from outside the box easily.

Lucho Gonzalez - Vice-captian and is the best midfielder at the club, you might struggle to keep hold of him as many clubs will be interested in him. If you want to sell him you can get around £20M for him but i wouldn't.

Raul Meireles - Should be the partner for Lucho in the centre of midfield. Stamina, free kicks, long shots and passing are his best attributes.

Tarik Sektioui - He is great at dribbling but will only be backup to Gonzalez and Rodriguez.

Pele - Good player with high strength and work rate and at 19 should improve alot with first team football.

Mariano Gonzalez - Stats wise he doesn't look great but he always seems to perform, his blistering pace is the best thing about him.

Cristian Rodriguez - Quality winger that can dribble and has the ability to cross well when he gets the opportunity.

Attackers

Lisandro Lopez - Good pace is his best attribute that can help you get in behind defenses and he has the ability to score when he gets the chance.

Adriano - He is a striker that can finish and head well, but wont get as much goals as Lopez and Farias.

Ernesto Farias - Heading is this players strength, if you get the tactics right he will get a load of goals for you.
