[edit] Background

Jamie Carragher is an English footballer who plays as a defender for Premier League side Liverpool. He is the current vice-captain and is one of the club's longest-serving players. Carragher started his career with the Liverpool youth team. He made his professional debut in the 1996–97 season and became a first team regular the following season. Having initially played as a full back, the arrival of manager Rafael Benítez in 2004 saw Carragher move to the centre back position. Carragher set a record for the most appearances in European competition for Liverpool in 2007. He has made 408 appearances, scoring 3 goals. He has 34 caps for the national side, although he has retired from the international team.

[edit] Football Manager 2010

Carragher is seen as one of the most influencial CB in the world, let alone Liverpool. Although now 31 years of age, he is still seen as a key member of the Liverpool 1st team, and will be for years to come. His stats in heading, marking and tackling are all above 16, indicating he is technically worthy of being one of the best CBs in the league. His key stat in the game is his bravery and determination. In every game that he plays, he gives 110%, ensuring he does everything in his power to help out his team. He should be given the role of vice-captain to Steven Gerrard, due to his mental stats being perfect for a leader in the team. He is a key member of the team, and should be a first choice CB for at least another 2-3 years at the start of the game.
