How To Install Graphics

There are thousands of Downloadable graphics for Football Manager. Graphics are there to improve how your game looks. Many people have problems installing them so here is an idiot-proof guide in how to.

[edit] How Do I Install Downloaded Graphics?

  1. Click Start, and then click My Documents. Open the Sports Interactive folder, and then open the Football Manager 2009 folder.
  2. Create a new folder called 'graphics'.
  3. Open the graphics folder and create 3 more folders called 'kits', 'logos', & 'players'.
  4. Move the graphics pack you want to install into the correct folder (kits into kits folder, logos into logos folder, and face packs into players folder), right click it, and click Extract Here. Once the files have been extracted, you can delete the .rar/.zip file if you want. If you can't extract the file, download WinRAR.
  5. Load the game, and goto Options » Preferences » Display & Sound. Untick Use Skin Cache and tick Always Reload Skin On Confirm.
  6. Click on Confirm. The game will now start reloading the skin and will will display the new graphics once it's done.

  1. Click Start, and then click My Documents. Open the Sports Interactive folder, open the Football Mangager 2009 folder, and then open the graphics folder.
  2. Create a new folder called 'backgrounds'
  3. Move the background pack to the folder, right click it, and click extract here. Once the files have been extracted, you can delete the .rar/.zip file if you want. If you can't extract the file, download WinRAR.
  4. Load the game, and goto Options » Preferences » Display & Sound. Untick Use Skin Cache and tick Always Reload Skin On Confirm.
  5. Click on Confirm. The game will now start reloading the skin and will will display the new graphics once it's done.

Q. Do I have to start a new game to see the new graphics?

A. No. Just make sure you have unticked Use Skin Cache and tick Always Reload Skin On Confirm in the game options, and then reload the game.

Q. I can't see the graphics, how do I fix this?

A. Make sure you have extracted the graphics to the right folder (My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\graphics). Also make sure you have unticked Use Skin Cache and tick Always Reload Skin On Confirm in the game options.

Q. I get shadows behind my kits, how do I fix this?

A.

  1. Download the default kits, and replace the kits in editor data directory (C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\editor data\kits).
  2. Download the rar file http://www.sendspace.com/file/9ry2gf and extract it into the same kit directory.
  3. Create a default folder in the graphics folder where you have put your kits (My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\graphics\kits).
  4. Copy the content of the kit folder in editor data (your first step) and paste it into the default folder.
  5. Reload the game.
