 Why Agbonlahor?
Well you may be asking at this point why on earth I would want to make a player guide on Gabriel Agbonlahor. Well, the answer is:
A: I really want to do a player guide.
B: Agbonlahor is actually a really decent, underrated player.
The two things that really stand out for me here are the pace and acceleration (highlighted) of Agbonlahor. This is why, if used right, he can be lethal and frighten even the best defences across the Premiership and Europe alike.
Although he may not have the most outstanding technical attributes, in fact they are pretty mediocre to be honest, he seems to just be so quick that these do not matter.
How is it best to play him?
Agbonlahor is best suited to a quick, direct and attacking style of play running at defenders. If you use two quick wingers, that is Agbonlahor and one other, like Ashley Young then you will reap the rewards. This is how I tend to play him in the midfield...
Obviously my team is now a few seasons in and built up a bit more, however if you use a good defensive midfielder and a small, pacey striker too then Agbonlahor and co provide the ingredients for a tasty attacking line up.
I have him running in to support the strikers and at the same time when he gets the ball, from the position he is in he will only cause havoc.
In all, Agbonlahor is truly a great asset to any team, he can adapt to different systems but I feel is best used in the role shown above. Buy him, and you can't go wrong.
