Fernando Torres is a Spanish footballer who plays for Premier League club Liverpool and the Spanish national team as a striker. Torres started his career with Atlético Madrid, playing 175 games and scoring 75 goals. Due to his prolific goalscoring he was nicknames 'El Nino' (The Kid). He joined Liverpool in 2007, after signing for a club record transfer fee. He marked his first season at Anfield by being Liverpool's first player since Robbie Fowler in 1995–96, to score more than 20 league goals in a season, becomming a fan favourite straight away. He has currently played 70 times for his country, scoring 23 goals. His international highlight came in the 1–0 win over Germany in the UEFA Euro 2008 Final.

Torres is seen as one of the greatest strikers and natural finishers in the world, both on FM and in real life. His amazing finishing and dribbling skills allows him to round any defender in the world, contributing to his prolific goal scoring record. His pace and brilliant footwork makes him an obvious candidate to play as a target man for any team, providing the ball is played either to his feet, or to allow him to run onto it. Torres plays best (from personal opinion) when he is played on his own upfront, with supporting attacking midfielders and wingers, providing him with through balls and crossers to get on the end of.
