Introduction

Chelsea FC, are a football club based in Fulham, West London. They currently play their football in the Barclays Premier League. Chelsea play their home games at Stamford Bridge, which can hold just over 43,000 fans. In 2003 Chelsea football club was bought by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich in a deal worth £140m ($233m). This deal would see Chelsea becoming the richest club in the world and Abramovich was very keen on spending money on players if it meant he would achieve great success with the club. Roman Abramovich made most of his money through Russia's aluminium industry and Abramovich is one of the major shareholders in Sibneft, one of Russia's largest oil companies. In his first 12 months Abramovich has almost equalled the entire transfer spending (around pounds 222m) of Sir Alex Ferguson in his 18 years at Manchester United, who are conventionally considered the wealthiest football club in the world and he finished second to Arsenal who at that point their whole squad was bought for less than half what Chelsea spent that year.

In the game Chelsea get quite a lot to spend 30M - 41M. I usually want to be ambitious so I would start the first season with expectations of winning the league and take the full amount of money as with 41 Million you should be annoyed if you don't win the league as you have the biggest budget in the league.

2009

In Football Manager 2009 you can choose between 30M - 39.5M, I would choose title winner and have 39.5M because the Chelsea squad is excellent and can win the league with one or two more players.
