[edit] Signing Him
At the start of the season you can sign Valencia for a fee around £10.5M. If you are quick enough, you will beat Manchester City to signing him as they are always interested and normally buy him. He will only move to Europe's top clubs.
[edit] Stats
As you can see Antonio Valencia's stats in 2008 are decent for a player of his calibre. With high stats in dribbling, technique, anticipation, flair, work rare, acceleration and pace (all 16), he should definitely be thought of as one of the best players of his position at the start of the game. We see during his development from 2008-2012 that a lot of his mental attributes have improved, coming of age has obviously helped Valencia grow as a player, and he still looks like he is on top of his game. Although, his stats do suggest that Valencia isn't the best defending player, nor the most physical either. With heading, tackling and jumping all at 8, Valencia isn't the best player to have when you need someone who is going to do a job, be it a defensive or attacking one.
[edit] Conclusion
Valencia is a very capable player who could play at the very top for a lot of years to come, his attacking flair can cause problems for defences for a long time to come. It's safe to say an investment in Antonio isn't an investment lost.
