Background
After starting his career with Krylia Sovetov in the Russian Second Division, Dzagoev caught the eye of CSKA Moscow and moved straight away into the first team. In his first season with the club, Dzagoev helped CSKA win the Russian Cup and finish second in the league, being named the league's Young Player of the Year for his work. His performance with club in turn quickly drew the attention of the national coaches and Dzagoev made his full Russian debut at the age of 18, becoming the youngest ever outfield player for the Russian national team in a World Cup match against Germany.

A tremendously creative and technically skilled central midfielder, Dzagoev is equally adept in the center of the park as he is in a reserve role behind a pair of strikers. Dangerous on set pieces, Dzagoev is a future longtime Russian national team playmaker and a good transfer target for the big clubs.
